We are very excited to welcome Canberra-based Deahnne McIntyre to our August 2016 Conference.
Some of Deahnne’s achievements include:
- Young Australian of the Year
- Four (4) time Paralympian NDIS participant 2016 – physical and
- NDIS participant 2016 – physical and pychosocial
Deahnne is a proud born and bred Canberra girl with spina bifida. She is part of a large family including her mum and stepfather and five siblings, of which one is her twin.
Deahnne grew up with a supportive family who encouraged her independence in all aspects of her life. She attended her local school with her brother and sister.
Not satisfied with being just a spectator at her siblings’ chosen sports she decided she wanted her own thing, which led to her trying many sports. Ultimately this led to her being named the youngest ever Young Australian of the Year and competing at four Paralympics.
