As a family, you may worry about what the future holds for your child. Will they find fulfilling work and live a meaningful life? This session will help you develop a vision for their future, giving you the confidence to guide them towards meaningful employment opportunities.

Imagining a good life and meaningful work is an important first step in planning for your child’s future. This webinar is designed to help families of students with disability reflect on what a fulfilling life looks like and how meaningful employment plays a key role. Through stories of success and practical activities, this session will guide you in creating a vision that aligns with your child’s interests, values, and aspirations, as well as the hopes and aspirations of your family.

We’ll explore:

  • Foundational concepts about the importance of having a positive vision for work.
  • Success stories of young people finding work that fits their interests and strengths.
  • How to create a vision statement that involves your family member in planning their future.
  • Tips on developing a vision statement that guides employment opportunities.

This webinar is designed to inspire families and provide practical steps to take as you support your child in imagining and working towards a good life.

Who should attend

This webinar has been designed for families of students in or about to start years 7-12. People with disability who have already finished school and their families may also find it useful, but please note that much of the content will focus on topics relevant to students.
