It’s been a couple of years since our last conference, so we’re really excited to be holding one in 2026! We invite you to save the date and start planning your trip to Canberra!
The focus of this two-day conference will be imagining home. A true home is more than just a place to live; it serves as a foundation for a fulfilling life. Our values, relationships, and vision shape what our homes become.
For individuals with disability, the experience of home should be grounded in community and belonging. An ideal home strikes a balance between feeling safe with the right support while also ensuring autonomy, personal preferences, and connections.
This conference will look well beyond traditional group home models. Instead, we will explore typical and ordinary options for creating a home unique to each individual.
We’ve already invited speakers to talk about
- housing options through rent, public housing, and home ownership
- the variety of ways people can live by themselves or with flatmates
- how people can connect with neighbours and others in their communities
- how to get the support right
- and much more!
We’ll be announcing more about our speakers and their presentations in the coming months. For now, please click the add-to-calendar button to be among the first to learn when registrations open.
