Join us over morning tea for the launch of a new website that shares knowledge on how people living with disability who self-manage their NDIS plans have developed tailored and innovative support arrangements that have had good outcomes for the person with a disability and the workers involved in their supports.
This resource is the culmination of work done by a collective of organisations from around Australia including JFA Purple Orange, Belonging Matters, Community Resources Unit, Valued Lives Foundation, Family Advocacy and Imagine More. Some of our local ACT families have participated and feature in the resource.
Date: Friday August 31 and the following last Friday of each month
Time: 10am – 12pm
Venue: EQ Cafe and Lounge, 70 Kent Street Deakin
We’ll also be launching our Self Manager Peer Support Group
Imagine More is also setting up a Self Manager Peer Group. Come along and meet some of the participants and learn how other families:
- Make decisions about purchasing supports so the costs of the support give you value-for-money, and can be met within your budget.
- Set up systems to reduce the administrative overload
- Meet obligations as an employer if you choose to employ staff directly.
- Show how funding is used towards reaching goals at planning meetings
- And More
