We are excited to welcome Tom to our August 2016 Conference.
Occupations in the true sense in the occupational therapy world are all those things a person needs, wants, and is expected to do. Occupations are active, purposeful, meaningful, occur in context and impact on health. Thomas worked by the principle that ‘therapy interventions’ needs to be more than clinic-based exercises and programs. He worked with school aged children for 8 years to assist them in determining and moving towards achieving their life goals and dreams.
Thomas also completed two international development projects in the Philippines; using play in early intervention community-based programs and a club foot intervention program.
He is now a lecturer and practice education coordinator at the University of Canberra.
