9am – 5pm both days
Carers ACT 2/80 Beaurepaire Cres, Holt ACT 2615
What is this workshop about?
This workshop explores why some groups in our society are more likely to experience marginalisation and stigma, and the impact this has on people with disabilities, aged people and other marginalised people. The workshop also examines how the acquisition of valued roles can contribute to changed societal perceptions and strengthen the likelihood that people with a devalued status will get a better life. The core themes and principles of SRV will be explored through presentations, exercises and discussion.
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is designed for support workers, coordinators, family members, people with disabilities, people with a mental illness and older people receiving services.
All participants should be people who are looking for ways of meeting the real needs of marginalised people, resulting in a better life, and who are interested in understanding more about Social Role Valorisation.
$260 per person. Note that this can be claimed as training from NDIS plans.
