This project focused on both individual and organisational capacity building activities to improve the lives of people with disability in the ACT. Individual capacity building activities connected and mentored families and nurtured family leadership. Organisational capacity building improved the efficiency and the effectiveness of Imagine More to grow and enable the organisation to connect with, support and mentor an extended reach of individuals with disability and families.
About the DPFO Grant
The DPFO grant round committed $15.5 Million (GST Incl.) to 114 organisations and 13 cohort group organisations to deliver one-year projects from July 2019.
These grants strengthened the foundations of the DPFO sector in time for the new approach for ILC grants as outlined in the ILC Investment Strategy aiming to see four nationally scalable programs that will deliver measurable outcomes for people with disability.
This project focused on both individual and organisational capacity-building activities to improve the lives of people with disability in the ACT.
Our individual capacity-building activities involved connecting and mentoring families and nurturing family leadership.
Our organisational capacity-building activities improved the efficiency and the effectiveness our organisation. It improved our ability to connect with, support and mentor an extended reach of individuals with disability and their families.
Project Outcomes
At an organisational level, Imagine More was supported in developing business processes and structures. This included:
- support in developing strategic direction
- board development
- communication and marketing processes
- development of the website and social media interactions, and
- creation of company systems and structures.
Funding was also provided to extend and develop existing relationships, both on a local and national scale.
In developing the capacity of people with disability and their family support, Imagine More extended prior work from previous grants that developed peer networks and relationships, and family leadership in the ACT.
