Margaret Rodgers
During her 40 years of experience working with people with disability and their families across Queensland, Marg has contributed to fostering change in a wide variety of ways. Put simply, she believes that life is not good enough for people who live with disability in our country and that together we can and must create something better.
Most of her work has been with families, and most of it in the not-for-profit sector in South-East Queensland. In mid-2025, after sixteen years, she stepped out of full-time work as the CEO of Community Resource Unit (CRU) and is now enjoying working with people with disability, their families, and small organisations on a part-time basis. A strong focus of her current work is assisting families in having conversations about the future.

Building a culture of renewal
This presentation will explore the benefits of renewal so that we, and the arrangements we put in place for the people we care about, remain fresh and relevant over time.
While being open to renewal and change can be challenging, it also brings excitement and new opportunities, and ultimately leaves things safer and stronger. As humans, we often resist or avoid change, so in this session, we will explore how to build a culture of renewal. Keeping these arrangements in good shape now will also make them safer to hand over to others in the future.
