The Recruiting and Directing Peer Group is a new peer group in 2025.
We developed it to support families who
- have (or are building or keen to build) a strong vision of a good life for their family members with disability.
- are actively recruiting people to help their family members reach their goals, whether through directly employing, hiring contractors, or via support platforms.
- want to share or understand how to navigate the new funding rules.
- want to maximise admin efficiency
- are keen to support their support staff through quality mentoring and clear direction.
- recognise the importance of balancing paid support with freely given relationships.
- are interested in learning alongside others as we put the pieces of recruiting and directing staff together.
- are willing to share their insights and experiences with like-minded families.
Because of the rapidly evolving and ever-changing NDIS landscape, we won’t always have the answers at our fingertips. Sometimes, we’ll be learning together. We’ll also be able to draw on the knowledge of our network of industry experts as needed.

About this Peer Group
Most of our meetings will be conversation-based. You are welcome to contribute as much or as little as you wish. We encourage members to keep their cameras on as this helps create a sense of community.
Depending on the interests of Group members, we may invite guest speakers to join us at some meetings. Please note that we don’t record peer group conversations. The only way to take part is via live attendance.

The group meets monthly for one hour from 12:30 to 1:30 pm on the last Monday.

- are investigating or currently directly engaging support staff for their family members with disability,
- have previously attended one of our peer groups,
- are residents of the ACT and the surrounding region (but not limited to), and
- can commit to attending each session*.
*We understand that unexpected absences may occur sometimes. Please only apply if you are confident you can attend most peer group sessions.
Your name will be added to a waitlist if the peer group is full. We will contact you during the year should a place become available.
