A Vision is a clear, hopeful picture of a good life for a person with disability, held and safeguarded by family. It is grounded in the belief that people with disability are entitled to the same rich, ordinary, and meaningful lives as everyone else.
A strong Vision reflects what all people value, including lifelong learning, meaningful work, a sense of belonging, connections and relationships, a place to call home, and a life with purpose.
A Vision can also guide decisions, shape support, and keep hope alive, helping the person and their family stay focused on what matters, particularly during challenging times.
This workbook explains why it’s beneficial to hold a Vision and steps you through the process of developing it.
