Eva Jamieson is a Canberra local. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, she spent a lot of time volunteering and attending indoor community events. The shutdown gave her and her team time to think about future opportunities.
Eva had been thinking about setting up a small business for a while. Her support team proposed several ideas, and she loved the idea of selling good quality chocolates. In 2022, Eva Scoops was established.
Eva Scoops has a simple offering of delicious, chocolate-coated almonds in three package sizes – 150g, 250g, and 500g. The chocolates are sourced from a producer in Melbourne. They are packaged beautifully and would make a lovely gift.
Eva fills the bags with a scoop, with a little support from her team to perfect her movements, hence the name of her business. She stamps her logo and batch number on each bag and presses the product information label on the back of each bag before filling it.
But Eva does so much more. She directs her team by responding to their suggestions with yes/no cards. Her business responsibilities include product choice, design, and research. She creates her own business cards. Eva researches charities to which she can donate her profits. She is also a marketer, choosing which markets to attend and building relationships with other stallholders and her regular customers. She even delivers the products herself, which is why her chocolates are only available to customers in Canberra and Queanbeyan.
Outside of her business, Eva loves to exercise at the gym and in the pool, do a bit of geocaching, catch up with friends, and spend time with her family.
