Setting up a job for success

A webinar designed to help families of students with disability (and their job supporters) to ensure the workplace is set up for a person with disability to thrive. Learn practical strategies for selecting tasks, preparing for work, and supporting long-term success in employment.

This webinar focuses on setting up the workplace to ensure success for a young person with disability. We cover important steps that help employers and supporters prepare the job environment, choose the right tasks to start with, and provide effective support. This preparation helps the person succeed from the start.

We’ll explore:

  • strategies to ensure the right tasks are chosen for the person.
  • ideas for preparing the person for work, including role plays, practice, travel training, and getting familiar with the workplace.
  • how to break down tasks into simple steps to teach the person effectively.
  • practical ways to train someone step by step to complete tasks independently.
  • supporting the growth of the person’s skills and identifying opportunities for career development.
  • communicating with employers to gather valuable feedback on job performance and opportunities for improvement.
